Daily 3D Word Search — Today's Cube
Find the words. Explode the rest!
What is Explowords?
Explowords is a free daily 3D word search you play in the browser. Each day a new letter cube is waiting: hidden words sit in straight lines through the volume, leftover letters behave like mines, and the same puzzle is shared with everyone who plays that day.
The tagline of the game is Daily word mines in 3D. That is the product. It is not Explo®, not Word Search Explorer, and not another flat newspaper grid with a 3D skin. Explowords is a daily cube: you rotate it, pick the first and last letter of a word, and decide when leftover tiles are safe to explode.
There is no account and no install. Open the site, press START GAME, and you are in the Game of the Day. English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian dictionaries ship with the app, so the daily words follow the language you play in.
A daily 3D word search is a different habit from a 2D word search online. Depth hides letters. Diagonals cut through layers. A word you cannot see from the front often appears after one rotation. That is why people come back: today's cube is new, short enough for a coffee break, and sharp enough that a Perfect run feels earned.
How today's puzzle works
The Game of the Day is one cube for the whole world in your language. Rotate it with the pointer or touch. Words sit on straight lines — along the axes or on diagonals through the cube.
Play: click a letter to start, then click another letter on the same line. If the segment spells a word (forward or backward), it counts as found. You do not drag through every cell; you mark the ends of the line.
Use the layer slider to hide outer layers and the view buttons to look at the cube from different sides. When a face is noisy, peel a layer or snap to top, front, or side until the word lines up.
Risk: you can explode tiles you don't need — but if you explode a letter that belongs to a hidden word, you lose that word. Right-click (or the explode control) detonates a tile without selecting it first. Filler letters are the mines. Word letters are the payload. Clear the fillers and the cube starts to breathe; hit a live letter and the word is gone.
The daily resets with the calendar day. Come back tomorrow and a new 3D word search puzzle is waiting. Previous-day cubes and custom matches exist in the menu when you want more than today's run.
Why 3D — not another flat daily
Most daily word searches are flat: a rectangle, a list, a highlighter. A 3D word search online asks you to think in volume. Letters stack. A word can run from the back-left corner through the center to the top face. Rotation is not decoration; it is how you read.
Explowords stays free in the browser. There is no app store listing to babysit and no download before the first cube. If you want it on your phone home screen, the PWA install is optional — the daily 3D word search still works as a normal website.
The 3D cube also makes leftover letters meaningful. In a paper grid, leftovers are just unused cells. Here they are mines you can clear for score, or tripwires if you guess wrong. That loop — find words, explode filler tiles, chase a Perfect run — is the reason the game is a daily and not a random generator you forget.
Perfect run and explode filler tiles
There are three honest outcomes, and the game names them in the results screen.
FINISHED — You cleared all words still in play, but one or more words were lost after exploding a letter that belonged to them.
COMPLETED — You found every word in the puzzle without losing any.
PERFECT — You never selected a word: only filler letters were exploded until word tiles alone remained, then the rest auto-completed for a bonus score.
A Perfect run is optional. The normal way to play is to select words. The spicy way is to treat the cube as a minefield: explode only filler tiles, never mark a word, and let the cube finish itself. That is the daily word mine in 3D.
Explode is not a hint button. It is a bet. Clear junk and the hidden words stand out. Hit a live letter and you convert a COMPLETED into a FINISHED — or you bust the run entirely if the rules of that blast demand it. Learn the faces, trust the layers, and only detonate when you are sure the tile is filler.
FAQ
Is Explowords free?
Yes. The daily 3D word search is free in your browser. During early access, premium-style modes (previous days, custom match, create puzzle) stay unlocked until v1.0.
Do I need an app?
No. Play at explowords.com. You can optionally install the site as a PWA for a full-screen icon, but nothing is required to start today's cube.
What languages are supported?
English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian. The daily puzzle uses your profile language so the word list matches the UI.
What is a Perfect run?
PERFECT means you never selected a word. You only exploded filler letters until the remaining tiles were the hidden words, which then auto-completed for a bonus.
What are FINISHED / COMPLETED / PERFECT?
FINISHED: you cleared what was left after losing one or more words to an explosion. COMPLETED: every word found, no losses. PERFECT: no word selections, only filler explosions, then an auto-complete bonus.
When does the daily reset?
A new Game of the Day appears with the calendar date. Yesterday's cube moves to previous days; today's cube is the one everyone in your language shares.
